We recently sat down with Lavinia, our Online Training Business Development Manager, to get a closer look at her role, a typical day at Bostonair, and what makes our technical training stand out in a competitive industry. From developing engaging courses and working closely with clients to sharing her journey and personal passions, Lavinia gives us an insightful look behind the scenes of Bostonair’s evolving digital training landscape.


Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

“I have recently stepped into the exciting role of Online Training Business Development Manager here at Bostonair.

Outside of work, I love spending time with family and getting outdoors—whether that’s a walk along the beach, a wander through the woods, a road trip with our caravan, or hopping on the motorbike for a scenic ride.

I also have a soft spot for baking! I might not be Bake Off material just yet—unless they’re looking for someone to bring treats and cheer from the sidelines.”


What is your job title at Bostonair, and how long have you been in the role?

“I’m the Online Training Business Development Manager, a role I stepped into in May 2025. I originally joined Bostonair in December 2024 as a Training Coordinator, so it’s been a really exciting journey so far.”


Can you describe your role in more detail?

“I support our brilliant Online Training team by identifying new opportunities to grow and expand our reach within the aviation industry. My work involves connecting with new clients, building partnerships, and helping shape training solutions that meet the evolving needs of the sector.”


What does a typical day at Bostonair look like for you?

“Most mornings start with catching up on industry news, followed by team check-ins to align our goals. A big part of my role is research—exploring market trends, analysing competitor offerings, and identifying areas where Bostonair can stand out.

I also spend time planning marketing campaigns, connecting with potential clients, and tailoring solutions based on their unique needs. On the personal development side, I’m currently studying IATA’s Fundamentals of Aviation course, which is deepening my industry knowledge and helping me support clients even better.”


What developments or new courses are in the pipeline for Bostonair’s technical training?

“We recently launched our PART-IS course, which has already had a fantastic response and made a strong impact with our clients.

Next, we’re developing Gen Fam courses, which I’m particularly excited about. We’re putting a lot of effort into making them as engaging and interactive as possible—these will be a great addition to our training suite.”


How does digital business development influence aviation training at Bostonair?

“Digital innovation is central to our training strategy. We’re not just delivering content—we’re enhancing the entire learning experience. From interactive modules and self-paced learning to real-time analytics and AI-powered pathways, we’re building a platform that’s smart, flexible, and future-ready.

We’re also integrating with client platforms via API, helping to streamline compliance tracking and training delivery.”


What challenges or opportunities do you see in the aviation training industry right now?

“The demand for skilled aviation professionals is growing globally—but so is the need for fast, flexible, and engaging training. The challenge lies in balancing innovation with compliance.

The positive early feedback we’ve received—particularly around improved performance and compliance tracking—has been incredibly rewarding.”


What advice would you give to someone considering a career in aviation or aviation training?

“Be curious and stay proactive. Aviation is fast-paced and constantly evolving. Whether your interest is in operations, maintenance, or training, make it your mission to keep learning—both technically and personally.

Soft skills, adaptability, and a growth mindset are just as important as industry knowledge. Those who stay curious and open to change are the ones who thrive.”
