What is Part CAMO Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation approval?

Part CAMO is a legal requirement for all organisations that operate aircraft within the EASA area. In particular, it enforces the quality standards that are required in order to ensure the continuing airworthiness of their aircraft. Due to the complexity and inherent safety requirements, Part CAMO is aimed primarily at operators of commercial or complex aircraft systems.

Is Part CAMO a new requirement?

While the term Part CAMO is a recent addition that only became a requirement between 2020 and 2021, most of the obligations are pre-existing. In many ways Part CAMO is a slightly more in-depth evolution of Part M Subpart G – it’s for this reason that the latter will no longer be an independent requirement. One of the core differences between Part CAMO and Part M, is the addition of SMS into the existing organisation requirements. Whereas previously, safety management systems were a separate framework, Part CAMO incorporates this.

What is the EASA requirement for Part CAMO?

Part CAMO is Annex Vc to (EU)1321/2014

Who should take part in our Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation training course?

While this course is filled with value and offers a comprehensive education, it is most applicable to individuals whose work relates to air operator worthiness certificates.  As Part CAMO is now a requirement to ensure an ongoing air operator certificate, it’s recommended that all employees within this sector take part.
