Download SyllabusFTS Phase 1 & 2 training is required for aviation professionals involved in maintenance, continuing airworthiness, and oversight functions, including licensed engineers (B1/B2), base and line maintenance staff, CAMO personnel, and quality/compliance managers.
Phase 1 (Awareness training) provides a general introduction to full tank safety, regulatory background and accident case studies, and is suitable for all staff requiring awareness level knowledge.
Phase 2 (Detailed training) is in-depth technical training covering ignition prevention, flammability reduction, maintenance implications and regulatory compliance. Suitable for professionals who require practical knowledge, including certifying staff, engineers, and CAMO personnel.
Our course covers both Phase 1 & 2, providing a detailed overview of fuel tank safety.
Yes, maintenance and airworthiness staff are required to hold a valid FTS certificate to ensure compliance with EASA & UK CAA regulation (Part 145, Part-M, Part CAMO, Part-21).
Continuation training is typically required every 2 years, depending on company policy and regulatory requirements.
Yes, this course is aligned with EASA AMC 20-22, CS-25, and UK CAA CAP 562 requirements.
1. Human Factors, Fuel Tank Safety and EWIS training lasts 2 years. If an initial certificate is held and the training is being completed for the two-year renewal then the Continuation Courses are sufficient.
(NOTE: Some organisations require a full continuation of training so if there is a large enough gap between certificates expiring and being renewed, the initial training may be needed again. This can differ based on each individual Company’s Quality Procedures.)
2. If it is the first time or training OR the training initial certificate can’t be found, then it is advised that the initial training is taken.
